KENYA – UNITED WORLD MISSION
Mark and Annemarie began their ministry journey in 1994 among the Turkana, a primitive, unreached people group in northwest Kenya. Through God’s grace and Spirit, there are now six active churches in the area with over 1,200 believers. These churches are now sending missionaries to their own people! In response to the need for training effective leaders, the Dyes developed a five-day “Training of Trainers” workshop for church leaders throughout East Africa. They are passionate about building Christian leaders to mobilize and equip the growing African Church for mission in the world. Their vision is to see mature disciples impact their communities and make more disciples.
Mark and Annemarie also oversee UWM’s work and personnel in East Africa. With more people arriving each year, this role is expanding, with particular focus in Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.
- For focused preparation leading up to a conference in South Africa. Pray God’s Spirit will go before their days together.
- The UWM folks in Congo had to evacuate recently. Pray that peace will be restored there soon; pray the “evacuees” can find rest during the time away from colleagues and dear friends.
- Kenya has struggled through 2 elections since August. This has caused a lot of disruption to normal life. Pray the opposition party will accept the ruling of the courts and that life will return to normal rhythms soon.
- That the Dyes will walk in the grace and strength of Christ daily.
